Top Ten Tuesday (#1)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they decide upon a bookish subject that we then have to choose our top ten. This weeks topic is: Top Ten Books I HAD To Buy...But Are Still Sitting On My Shelf Unread.

This is one I think I can do pretty well as my to read pile is HUGE right now! So here we go then:

Yeah... I still haven't read this after years of having it on my shelf. I will get to it one day though, I must read this classic.

This book made such a huge impact on the YA community when it was released so of course I bought it the first time i saw it.

This was a highly anticipated read of mine but alas I still haven't read it.

This sounds so awesome but here it is.

I bought this when I was having a mad dystopian reading spree but I overworked my brain on all things dystopian at the time but I hope to get to it soon.

I bought this whole series for such a bargain price but haven't read it yet.

eek! I know I really should have read this by now.

I want to read this so so badly but it keeps getting pushed down the list due to review books. Sad times.

Another one of my highly anticipated reads gone unread.

I wanted to read this ages ago when Melissa was just giving us snippets on twitter but I haven't read it still. The cover slightly puts me off to be honest.

Well there you go, my Top Ten Books I HAD To Buy...But Are Still Sitting On My Shelf Unread. I would love to hear about yours. Feel free to leave a link to your post in the comments.

  1. Some great books collecting dust on your shelves ;) But sometimes it just happens!! By the way, Dracula is different form what you'd expect. It's a good book but it always takes me a long time to get through it.
Immortal Rules and Carnival of Souls are amazing!! The CoS cover is also not among my faves, but the story is really great! And Daughter of Smoke and Bone is in a league of its own *swoons*
I really want to read Grave Mercy and Partials but I haven't bought them yet...
Good luck with getting around to them soon!

    Here's my list.

  2. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is one of my favorites! I'm thinking about rereading it because it's been awhile and I want to pick up the next in the series. Good List!

  3. Christ these are all on my TBR pile as well, just not a top priority :D Great list!

    Thanks for stopping by :)

  4. I feel so accomplished! I've read most of these. :)

Grave Mercy and TINAT were among my top favorites of 2012.

I agree about the Carnival of Souls cover. Harper usually does such a great job, but that one's just so lazy!

  5. I love The Immortal Rules and would highly suggest it because it's a brilliant read. As goes with Daughter of Smoke and Bone which I read a few weeks ago.

Hope you get around to them soon! :)

  7. I really enjoyed Dracula. The beginning/setup was a bit slow, but once you get to the action, it's fantastic.

  8. Ooh, Grave Mercy. Haven't read it yet, but I really want to! I see that the sequel is out/coming out soon, so I'll definitely have to rectify that sooner rather than later!

  9. I have to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone and The Maze Runner too! (Although I don't actually own these.) You've got a great list. Hope your reading goes well.

  10. I've actually read half of these titles. Go me! GRAVE MERCY is one of those books that I bought, but haven't read yet. I really, really want to -- and will. Soon. Very soon.

  11. The Maze Runner trilogy is incredible! And you're definitely right about needing to read The Daughter of Smoke and Bone (although I still have to read the sequel, so who am I to talk?).

Great list. I hope you enjoy all of these books!

  15. I wouldn't mind reading Dracula either... good idea! This is Not a Test is one of my favs! Courtney Summers is the best! It's a zombie book, but it's so much more.

  16. Great list here! I just finished reading Grave Mercy last night and I really liked it! Defiance is one of my all-time favorites and I thought Immortal Rules had a really neat storyline.

  17. I loved Grave Mercy, and I'm actually just starting The Immortal Rules. I was hesitant at first, as vampire books usually aren't my thing, but Julie Kagawa has done an amazing job so far. Defiance was just an okay read for me.

  18. Ha! Finally someone who hasn't read Dracula. I just find it very... uninteresting. lol
I have yet to start The Immortal Rules. I want to see why everyone loves Julie Kagawa's books. Daughter of Smoke and Bone was absolutely amazing.
This Is Not A Test and Carnival of Souls have been on my TBR list for a while now.
    Great list!

  19. Yikes, I need to read Daughter of Smoke and Bone as well... tried once but for some reason I put it down and forgot about it...

If you're in the mood for a somewhat predictable but super fun and engaging read, definitely pick up The False Prince. I just read it, and its sequel, and they're SO good. Pretty short and predictable, but the main character is awesome. :)

  20. Thanks for stopping by my TTT. I saw some on your list that are really good. Specifically Grave Mercy...bump that one closer to the top of your TBR! :)

I really did adore Daughter of Smoke and Bone too! It was such a different read with lots of cool lore and what not. I hope you dig it!

  25. You've got some really great books on this list that I would highly recommend - namely, Grave Mercy, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and The Immortal Rules. I still really REALLY need to read The False Prince, too, as that one is also sitting unread on my shelf. Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog earlier!

  26. I'm glad I'm not the only one who hasn't read Immortal Rules or Daughter of Smoke & Bone. I also have Partials on my TBR shelf, but haven't had it there for too long. Thanks for sharing!

  27. Excellent list! I LOVE Daughter of Smoke and Bone SO MUCH! The Maze Runner was also a really excellent ride. Great list! Thanks for stopping by my blog, by the way! I'm definitely going to need to move Wither up in my TBR list.
